Keith Michel is delighted to have returned to Mount Holyoke in March of 2024 as Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Constituent Relations. In this role, he oversees a targeted portfolio of donors and activities with the aim of creating the high-level strategic engagements and partnerships that foster deep connectivity with our generous alums, families and friends and secure enhanced philanthropic revenue to help the College achieve its highest priorities. Special areas of focus include, but are not limited to, Trustee Emeriti, Athletics, and Mount Holyoke families. Michel previously served at ý as Associate Vice President for Development for five and a half years, overseeing the College’s frontline fundraising teams, as well as the College Relations's division's research efforts. Prior to joining the MHC College Relations team, Michel spent seven years in Advancement at Amherst College, most recently as Senior Philanthropic Advisor and Deputy Campaign Director. Earlier career highlights include three years in Development at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and National Co-Chairman/Chief Fundraiser for “Comics for Kerry” in New York City for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign. Prior to his development career, Michel pursued a professional theater career as a producer, director and actor in New York City. He formally trained as an actor at conservatory programs in England and France and earned his B.A. in Fine and Performing Arts from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
In his spare time, Michel enjoys reading, fine and performing arts, sports, spending time with his wife and kids, and cheering on the kids at games and performances.
