Pat Bingham

Pat Bingham (she/they) serves as the Assistant Director of Campus Diversity Programming at ąű¶ł´«Ă˝ College.

Bingham is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, driven by her own experiences as a neurodiverse, first generation, openly queer, Afro Latina. Bingham brings both lived and professional experience to her work by prioritizing the creation of inclusive spaces and programming so that all students, faculty, staff and alums can feel seen, valued and empowered.

From providing support to community members navigating systemic barriers and facilitating educational and social programming for students, faculty and staff, to working across departments to implement institution-wide initiatives and collaboratively leading campus efforts at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) to institute the LGBTQ+ Center, Bingham brings a wealth of experience to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Recognized for her leadership and advocacy, Bingham has received several honors, including the Richard F. Stevens Outstanding Graduate Student Award from NASPA (both at the state and regional levels) and the Student Advocacy Award from the LGBTQ+ Center at CCSU.

Bingham earned an M.A. in Counselor Education with a specialization in Student Development in Higher Education and a B.A. in Psychological Sciences from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). Her graduate thesis, “Addressing Barriers to Academic Success for BIPOC Students,” illuminates her personal mantra – there isn’t one kind of student, so higher education shouldn’t be one size fits all.
