Empowered by collaboration
Mount Holyoke focuses on collaboration over competition.
鈥淚 didn鈥檛 want to be at a school that just prepared me for the real world. I wanted to be somewhere that empowered me to be part of changing it. I saw quickly that 果冻传媒 educated changemakers, who pursued careers through passion and joy.鈥
鈥淚n my Disability and Religion class, we didn鈥檛 discuss topics in a silo. We brought our full selves to conversations. The class modeled the content. It started with us thinking through accessibility in the classroom and how to show up for each other. Conversations were just as valuable as taking notes on the reading. It changed my view of what was possible in the classroom.鈥
鈥淢ount Holyoke focuses on collaboration over competition. For example, we have menstrual products in the main bathrooms via free vending machines. I advocated for this through student government, figured out the budget and collaborated with different departments to execute it. Mount Holyoke has been a playground for me to exercise the skills necessary to make a difference in the world.鈥
